What Is Polyurea?

It is two-component, elastomeric system, 100% solvent free and 100% solid material. The product is aromatic and very resistant against weathering aging (excluding optical discoloration that occurs by time). Applied product gives seamless monolith surface. It does not flat joints and grouts as it takes the shape of the surface.

Application Fields

DUAYEN SPRAY SYSTEM’s application fields are very wide due to extremely high characteristic features. It is applied in many areas such as construction and aviation sector. It provides excellent hydro insulation at buildings and grounds. It is very suitable for hydro insulation of bridges, tunnels, pools and pipeline. Besides water proofing, it can be used for industrial floorings and coatings. (Food and industrial sector, farms, parking areas, wagons, ship industry). Applicable surfaces: concrete, steel, wood, metal, glass, tiles, geo-textile, non-woven fabrics, polyurethane and other construction materials.

Application

> The method of application: 2 layers, cross.
>In order to have a minimum consumption, the smooth ground is preferred. The surface must be clean.
> Concrete surfaces must be mechanically compact / strong. (1,4 MPa).
> Duayen Spray can be applied at least 28 days later after the concrete has been poured (for the new standard grade concrete).
> Moisture content of the concrete must be checked. Maximum moisture could be 4%.
> If there is no any moisture, Duayen Spray can be applied directly on the surface without primer.
> If the surface has been covered with ice, the system should not be applied.
> If the air temperature is below +8 ° C, primer is recommended.
> If the surface needs vapor membrane, it should be applied before Duayen Spray.
> Steel surfaces must be done sandblasting. Sa 2,5 (ISO 8501-1), the degree of smoothness R≤130-170µm.
> Tiles surfaces must be done sandblasting. Thin epoxy primer should be applied after sandblasting and then Duayen Spray should be applied.
> Application of the system is possible only with adequate high-pressure two-component spray machine.

Polyurea application is a hot application system which requires a special coating machine, therefore machine investment is required. If investing in the machine is not a problem. It would be preferred to use products which can be squeezed with a pressure gun (cold system) or applied without machine (pouring system) that has been developed by our R & D department.
